Scanner, Alerts, and Indicator Disclosure

Free Scanner Pages and Selected Results
Financial Tech Wiz publishes free scanner pages on FinancialTechWiz.com, such as the Daily Pivot Breakout Scanner. These pages show a limited, delayed sample of results: signals appear several trading days after they occur, and only a small number of results are shown for each period.
The free view may select results by criteria such as the gain since the signal, liquidity or price. Results selected this way are not representative of all signals the scanner produces. Many signals lose money, and the results shown are not typical. A gain shown since a signal is a price change between two closes, not the result of an actual trade, and does not reflect entries, exits, stops, slippage, commissions or taxes.
Members of the Financial Tech Wiz Trading Journal may see scanner results the same day and the full history of past signals. Same-day results carry the same risks: a signal is a technical condition, not a recommendation, and it may fail immediately.
Charts and Indicators
Charts may display indicators, pivot levels, breakout markers, trailing stops and exit levels calculated by Financial Tech Wiz. These overlays are mechanical calculations on historical prices. They are not instructions to buy, sell or exit, and they may differ from the levels shown on other charting platforms.
The Daily Pivot Breakout indicator offered for free on TrendSpider is provided as is. TrendSpider is a third-party platform; Financial Tech Wiz does not control its data, calculations, alerts or availability, and indicator signals on TrendSpider may differ from the Financial Tech Wiz scanner.
Market Data
Prices, charts and scanner results rely on market data from third-party providers, including Twelve Data. Market data may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, revised or adjusted for splits, dividends and other corporate actions. Financial Tech Wiz does not guarantee the accuracy or timeliness of any market data and is not responsible for decisions made on the basis of it. Same-day data may be preliminary until a final daily update is available.
Hypothetical and Backtested Performance Disclosure
Any examples, illustrations, charts, historical results, backtests, hypothetical scenarios, or simulated performance shown on this website, within the trading journal app, or shared through Discord or other channels are hypothetical in nature.
Hypothetical and backtested results do not represent actual trading and do not account for factors such as liquidity, slippage, commissions, execution delays, emotional decision-making, or changing market conditions. Actual trading results may differ materially.
Past performance, whether real, simulated, or hypothetical, is not indicative of future results.
Strategy Backtests in the Trading Journal
The Financial Tech Wiz Trading Journal includes backtests of the Daily Pivot Breakout strategy and may include backtests of other strategies. These backtests apply fixed rules to historical daily data after the fact. They are hypothetical and were not achieved by any actual account.
Backtests have additional limitations, including but not limited to: strategy rules and settings may have been chosen with the benefit of hindsight; historical data may not include companies that were delisted, which can make results look better than they would have been; fills are assumed at historical prices, and any slippage or cost settings are estimates; and backtests cannot account for the financial risk, discipline and emotions involved in actual trading.
Hypothetical or simulated performance results have certain inherent limitations. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown. There are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program.
