Ichimoku Cloud Crossover Scanner
This Ichimoku cloud crossover scanner finds bullish and bearish daily Tenkan/Kijun crosses, often called TK crosses. Both directions appear on the same page. It scans the two lines crossing each other, while the cloud is chart context rather than a qualification filter.
Key Takeaways
- Tenkan uses the midpoint of the latest nine sessions’ highest high and lowest low; Kijun uses 26 sessions.
- Bullish and bearish TK crossovers are separate lists in the same scanner.
- Free results use final daily data and are delayed five trading sessions.

Free view: up to 5 stocks per direction each week, with final signals 5 trading days late, a close above $5 and more than $10 million traded on the signal day. Not every signal works. The journal shows all of them, winners and losers.

Final matches also require price above $5 and more than $10 million in daily dollar volume, calculated as closing price multiplied by final share volume. Developing and after-close preliminary scans in the app keep the price floor and skip volume filters. Choose a week, then select a stock to update the chart beside the results. Charts include all available stored price history; free signal markers and highlighted candles stop at the delayed cutoff.
The board shows four calendar weeks, with up to five unique stocks per direction in each week. A symbol uses its latest qualifying session that week. Dated-match counts can be higher than the sample shown. An empty direction means no qualifying rows in that delayed week; an unavailable message means the history could not be verified.
The bullish and bearish TK crossover rules
A bullish crossover occurs when Tenkan was at or below Kijun on the previous trading session and is above Kijun on the signal session. A bearish crossover occurs when Tenkan was at or above Kijun previously and is below Kijun now. Equality on the signal day is not a crossover.
This rule finds a new crossing event, rather than every stock that remains above or below the other line. A stock can continue trending for weeks without a new crossover, so its absence from today’s list does not necessarily mean its trend has ended. Previous-session equality can precede a valid crossing on the next session.
The calculations require at least 27 complete valid daily bars so both yesterday’s and today’s 26-session values can be evaluated. A valid TK cross does not require enough history for the full cloud. Missing required sessions are excluded.
How Tenkan and Kijun are calculated
Tenkan is (highest high over nine sessions + lowest low over nine sessions) / 2. Kijun uses the same midpoint calculation over 26 sessions. These are range midpoints, rather than simple averages of closing prices. Both include the signal session.
For a nine-session highest high of $110 and lowest low of $90, Tenkan is $100. If the 26-session extremes are $120 and $80, Kijun is also $100. Equal lines do not produce a signal on that day. A later change in the session extremes can move one midpoint above or below the other.
Because these lines depend on highs and lows, an intraday last price alone is insufficient to calculate them reliably. Developing results in the journal use the actual cumulative regular-session high and low, alongside finalized previous sessions.
How to read the cloud on the chart
The chart includes Tenkan, Kijun and the two cloud boundary lines. Span A is the midpoint between Tenkan and Kijun. Span B is the midpoint of the highest high and lowest low over 52 sessions. Both spans are plotted 26 trading sessions ahead, following the Ichimoku displacement convention.
The cloud plotted under a historical price bar comes from span calculations 26 sessions earlier. The portion projected beyond the latest price bar is an indicator projection from existing data, not a forecast of future prices. The scanner does not require a bullish cross above the cloud or a bearish cross below it.
No Chikou confirmation, cloud color, price-versus-cloud condition or volume filter is added. If you use those checks in your own method, apply them after reviewing the crossover list. Keeping these requirements separate makes it clear why a stock appears in the scan.
Using bullish and bearish results
Review the bullish and bearish sections together to understand which stocks have changed line relationships on the same daily session. Open the stock chart and consider the surrounding trend and range. Crosses in a sideways market can reverse repeatedly, while a strong trend can continue without another crossing.
A bearish row is a technical screen, not an instruction to short a stock. Short-sale availability, borrowing costs and risk require independent review. A bullish row is likewise not a buy recommendation. Record any trade you choose to make and compare its outcome with your own process.
What the delay and history mean
The free cutoff is five actual exchange trading sessions behind the latest complete daily-data session. Weekends and exchange holidays do not count. Missing scan dates do not shorten the delay. The page updates automatically from stored final scan results, and it never includes forming-candle matches.
Charts show the listed signal date and scanner lines. Price bars can extend beyond the delayed signal to a later permitted final close, but scan markers stop at the delayed cutoff. Initial history for these four scanners covers approximately 60 finalized sessions using the currently eligible stock universe. It is not a survivorship-free database of all companies that existed historically.
Current scanners and trade tracking
The Financial Tech Wiz Trading Journal provides current scanner lists, dated charts, trade tracking and performance analytics. Its developing daily scans are labeled preliminary, require a daily candle close for confirmation, and skip all volume qualification filters. Coverage rotates across the stock universe, so the list is not a simultaneous real-time view of every stock.

FAQ
Is the Ichimoku cloud useful?
It can provide structured trend and range context through its lines and displaced spans. This scanner isolates the daily TK crossover so you can review that event separately from any cloud-position requirement.
What is the success rate of Ichimoku?
There is no universal success rate. Results depend on exact rules, market, timeframe, costs, risk management and testing method. This scanner does not publish a profitability or accuracy claim.
What is the best timeframe for Ichimoku?
There is no single best timeframe for every trader. This tool uses daily bars only. A TK cross on an hourly chart can occur at a different time and is not the same signal.
Which indicator works best with Ichimoku?
There is no universal best companion indicator. Any extra filter should have a defined purpose and be tested. This scanner adds no other indicator or volume requirement.
